Nepal record epic 1 run win against Netherlands | Nepal Cricket |

Sompal Kami turned star with both bat and ball to dismantle Netherlands by just a mere 1 run in the second ODI. Nepal went on to register the first ever ODI win as the dutch failed to chase a decent target of 219 runs.
Batting first on the VRA Ground Netherlands, Nepal posted a decent total of 218 runs in 48.5 overs. After the early loss of both openers Gyanendra Malla (13) and Subash Khakurel (19), Nepal’s inning was raised up by the special effort from Sompal Kami and Paras Khadka. On being the second Nepalese cricket to slam an ODI half century, skipper Paras Khadka made 51 runs. Before being caught by Shane Snater of Pieter Seelaar’s bowling, Paras stuck 6 fours and 2 maximums. At the back end of the inning it was Sompal Kami who struck 61 runs from 46 balls to guide the Nepal’s total in excess of 200. Sompal slammed 5 fours and 3 sixes in his inning.

C
hasing the target of 219 runs, Netherlands’s batting got a horrible start as Sompal Kami removed Stephen Myburgh with a clean in swinger in the second ball itself. In the second of the seventh over, it was debutant Rohit Paudel who pulled a screamer of a catch to send Ben Cooper back to hut. After the early loss of two wickets, Wesley Barresi and Ter Braak put on a strong partnership of 84 runs, before Braak was trapped lbw by Sandeep Lamichhane. Sandeep struck for the second time in the same over to send de’ Leede back for a duck. The dutch batting kept on tumbling as they were reduced to last pair with 6 runs needed in the penultimate over. Paras Khadka however held his nerve and ran out Pan Ven Meekeran in the last ball to give Nepal a run win against Holland.
Sandeep Lamichhane was the star with the ball as he picked up 3 wickets for 41 runs in his 10 overs. Sompal Kami was adjudged the man of the match for his all round performance.
